The employees are accommodating and kind.

Helpful hotel employees all round.

Location is about the only benifit of staying here, being only feet from the front gate of Lackland Air Force Base it's the closest place to stay.

We were very disappointed, the towels looked like they were as old as the hotel, the water does not stay hot so get ready for a cold shower, we saw roaches in our rooms, we were awakened to loud people below us with kids screaming at all hours of the night, room service entered our rooms even with the "do not disturb signs" on the door even after we asked them not to. Spend a few more dollars and upgrade imo.

Accommodating staffs, gave a few recommendations. Early check-in, parking on-site.

I liked the location, right outside the base gate, free breakfast and cheap

To be honest, this location cant be beat,it is literally 20 steps outside of the Valley High gate. Lackland has graduations EVERY WEEK so they have a lot of business coming in. They need to invest some money in renovations because this place needs a facelift. For the price though I guess its what you get, but when you compare it to the gateway inn on base, which is 35 per night, this place is lacking.

I've had a very good stay for the price. The hotel was a nice place for enjoying a very convenient area, right by San Antonio and Lackland and several restaurants. The room was convenient, had climate control, multi-channel television and a microwave oven. My bathroom was amazing, liked it.

Location near the air force base offers easy access to graduation ceremonies, with great views of trainees' morning runs from the room. Rooms equipped with microwaves, mini-fridges, and direct access to local dining options.

Noise levels can be a real problem. Rooms aren't soundproof, including unexpected vocal performances. The overall condition of the rooms could use attention. Issues like stained towels, peeling walls, and intermittent hot water in the shower were notable. The cleanliness seemed inconsistent, with reports of cockroaches and dirty floors persisting throughout.

We chose the Care Free Inn because of it's location. My son was graduating from Lackland AFB, it is located rt outside the base. Rodney the night clerk was exceptionally attentive to our need she went above and beyond making us feel at home.

The housekeeping needs alot of work. There is no attention to detail in the rooms. Updating is definately needed.

Had bugs in my room in my beds and was absolutely disquested. Went to my room had no hot water.

Convieniant to Lackland AFB.

It is a tired, used motel

Excellent place with great amenities like free wi-fi, a pool, and 24-hour reception. Staff even helped me with water at night during my first stay. I always feel welcomed and comfortable here.

The only thing that I liked about Carefree Inn was that it was right outside of the gates of Airforce Base. Which was one of the reasons we chose to stay there. They did offer breakfast.

What is did not like about Carefree Inn is that all of the furniture in the rooms need an upgrade. The worst thing for me was the mattress on the beds which look like they had been left out in the rain. There was big brown spots on one side, the sheets did not fit the bed. There were bugs in the bathroom where my brother and his wife stayed for 5 days. I was only there for one night. The light fixture did not work, lamp shades need to be replace. Only if you are very very low on money would I suggest you stay there.

Proximity to Lackland Air Force base

Dirty room, odor, hidden added charges, poor maintenance, little hot water, no sound buffer to other rooms,

The location is perfect for getting to the base quickly. The room had issues with cleanliness and bugs. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi connection was weak.

Proximity to my destination was the best thing about Carefree.

I inspected the bed and found Q-tips and tissue paper in the bed. The bed was made with these items in it. The hot water would vanish during a shower.
